Important Things to Know Before and After Your Hair Transplant
✅ Scabbing is normal and temporary. After your procedure, both the donor and implantation areas may form scabs or appear as white, flaky skin — this is a normal healing sign. On Day 12, gently rub the scalp while washing to remove any remaining scabs.
✅ Avoid placing your head directly under the showerhead for at least 60 days. Instead, use a cup or your hands to gently wet the scalp.
✅ No alcohol or smoking for 10 days before and 30 days after your hair transplant. These habits restrict blood flow and oxygen, which are crucial for successful healing and hair growth.
✅ Your head will be shaved for the procedure. For men, the full scalp is shaved. For women, only a small area at the back is shaved — usually hidden beneath longer hair.
✅ The first 10 days are the most important. Avoid lying on the transplanted or donor area, and stay away from heat, cold, sun, rain, or vigorous activity.
✅ The next 30 days are also critical. Continue to avoid sweating, sun, sauna, direct heat or cold, and do not sleep on the implanted area.
✅ Do not wear hats on the implanted area for at least 60 days. If absolutely necessary due to work, ask us about safe options.
✅ Use only lukewarm or cool water when washing your scalp from now on. Hot water can reduce graft survival and impact results. Hot water, in general is not healthy for your hair
